Small dining tables for four people are small and compact – ideal if space is at a premium in your dining room or you’re making a dining area in another part of the house. A small dining room table for four people will generally be between 75cm and 90cm wide and 75cm and 100cm long. This provides ample seating space for four adults but also keeps size to a minimum when you need to maximise the available space.

Before making your choice, measure how much space you have and make sure you take into account the room you will need when seated at chairs or benches, plus any additional space that might be required to walk around the table. Ideally you will need 40 to 50 cm for walkway space or access. This should tell you how big or small you need to go with your table.
